Brighton Sea Cadet Unit.
The information on this page will give you an overview of the Sea Cadet Corps and Brighton Sea Cadets. Use the menu above and page links to gain access to all areas of this web site.
The Sea Cadet Corps is a national youth organisation for boys and girls aged 12 to 18. Brighton Unit also has a Junior Section for those ages between 10 and 12. It is open to all young people regardless of race, religion or colour and we draw our members from all backgrounds. The Corps is disciplined and uniformed, but it is certainly not para-military, nor does membership imply a career in the Services or Merchant Navy.
The aim of the Sea Cadet Corps is to help young people towards
responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes
and high standards of conduct using a nautical theme based on the
customs of the Royal Navy.
Through adventurous activities Cadets become self reliant, and through team work Cadets develop consideration and respect for others. The Corps encourages high personal standards and a sense of purpose, and provides a sound foundation for future Careers.
